Ducati rider Jorge Lorenzo left the racing world with jaws wide open as he tops the timesheets to conclude the Sepang test.
Right from the off the 5 time world champion was determined to make his mark. With only half an hour into the day Lorenzo had already topped the timesheets beating Viñales’ benchmark from yesterday.
With 6 hours still to go the Spaniard set the fastest ever two-wheeled lap time around the Sepang International Circuit, showing he means business for 2018.
Lorenzo was the only man who dipped into the 1:58’s with a staggering 1:58.830, his closest competitor being the number 26 machine of Dani Pedrosa who put in a 1:59.009, followed closely by the Brit Cal Crutchlow with a 1:59.052.
Lorenzo’s team mate and 2017 runner up Andrea Dovizioso was the closest Ducati in 4th place who was 0.339 of a second away from Lorenzo’s blistering pace with a 1:59.169.
Another Ducati, Jack Miller on the Alma Pramac Ducati followed closely behind making it 3 Ducati’s in the top 5. Perhaps a sign of what is to come in the 2018 season.
