With sales decreasing massively, worldwide sales dropping 6.7%, and sales in the USA dropping by 8.5% Harley Davidson are looking for new, “younger” customers.
Harley have announced they will be producing an electric motorcycle for 2020.
The Harley Davidson ‘LiveWire’ was Harley’s first attempt at a concept electric motorcycle back in 2014, and plans are to have it on the road in 2020. The LiveWire produces 74BHP, reached 0-60 in under 4 seconds and could reach up 100mph.
However, the LiveWire had a range of only 55 miles. When compared to Zero Motorcycles’ Zero SR ZF14.4 that has a range of 223 miles, the Harley seems a little agricultural
Should we expect the same for what Harley Davidson are yet to bring to their production line?
Although Harley have said Project LiveWire will be brought to the road, they also pointed out it is still an “active project”. Therefore, one would assume an active project with 18 months left till production would result in a new and improved Harley Davidson LiveWire, with a range close to that of the Zero SR ZF14.4.
